Meagan Quinn Macklin

Specializing in several deep-tissue modalities including myo-fascial, trigger point therapy sport massage and orthopedic techniques, Meagan can pinpoint and treat musculo-skeletal problems efficiently and effectively. PNF and AI Stretches are also incorporated into every session depending on the specific needs of the client. Meagan works on professional athletes including NFL and NBA players as well as everyday people of all sizes and walks of life. With years of working alongside physical therapists and chiropractors in PT and Chronic pain clinics she has a wealth of experience working with all types of sport, soft-tissue, chronic pain and repetitive work injuries. She likes to see results and would rather you feel better and refer your friends than have someone stay in pain and have to be dependent on her for relief for an extended period of time. Her BS is in Health Sciences and she is always furthering her education with continuing education courses in various massage and health techniques as well as has plans to continue on to a graduate degree.
She graduated from Lourdes Institute of Wholistic Sciences in 2004 for integrated Massage Therapy. She immediately started deep-tissue work at Non-Surgical Solutions, a chronic pain clinic in Bala Cynwyd where she got hands on training working alongside PT's and Chiropractors there. From there (the business eventually dissolved) she worked at various other PT clinics and chiropractic offices (Your Chiropractic Center at 16th and Walnut employed her for 5 years) and furthered her training through continuing education classes. Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation Stretches, Assisted Isolated Stretches, myo-facsial techniques, pregnancy massage, sports massage (under Jim Earley, massage therapist to the Olympic Swim Team), Gua Sha or muscle scraping and orthopedic massage (under Dr. of Sports Medicine, Ben Benjamin) and Sports Cupping have all been assimilated into my practice. The office at Philly Power Yoga opened in 2009 and has been thriving ever since. Her clientèle expanded to include several professional athletes and became DeSean Jackson's personal massage therapist between 2010 and 2013 while working on other Eagles such as Chad Hall, Jerome Harrison, Steve Smith and NBA players such as Flip Murray. She enjoyed the challenges that they offered but settled into strict office hours in 2013. Meagan had a wonderful stint as the massage therapist for the PA Ballet for a couple seasons and continues to work with professional dancers.
She first became interested in body work in Thailand, where she lived for a year an a half. She was teaching English there and loved teaching but did not want to teach conventional subjects. She had loved anatomy in art school and the idea of teaching people how to function in a more ergonomic way and to overcome physical challenges appealed to her. After her return to the U.S.A. she enrolled in massage school and knew she was aimed in the right direction. She has since been married, has a daughter, Catherine, a son, Ulysses and plans on continuing her education in bodywork and physiology.
